The setup for this image

Out for my lunchtime walk, I spotted these two guys doing their best to drench eachother with water spray.
Taken with 15-85mm lens at 85mm, f/5.6, 1/1000" (Av)
Step 1
Convert to B&W using the auto Lightroom button
Step 2
Basic panel: Highlights -100, shadows +100, black clipping -95, clarity +100.

This increased contrast and made the water vapour stand out much more.
Step 3
Curves. I used the sliders rather than dragging the curve around manually.
Lights +25, darks -45, shadows -45.

This had a much milder effect, darkening the shadows.
Step 4
Crop. This was the crop I had in mind when I took the photo, and if I'd had a longer zoom, it's how I would have framed it. It was handy to have the extra scene just in case it was useful, but in this case, it wasn't.
